Actionable insights

We deliver actionable insights to key social sector decision-makers, making evidence informed decision-making easier.

We work closely with social sector decision-makers including Ministers and the Social Wellbeing Board of social sector chief executives — to whom we provide advice. Our role is to make it easier for the social system to understand, decide on and do more of what really works, for better lives.

Data, science and experiences

To produce new insights and possible areas of action, we combine science and data with the lived experiences of real people. You can learn what this looks like in practice, in our case study Towards better social sector decision making and practice: a social wellbeing approach. Read the full case study [PDF, 2.2 MB]. Insights lead to cases for action

Well-formed insights make compelling cases for action across the social system, by showing what’s possible. We produce and deliver evidence informed insights uniquely, by working together with the social system and service users. This approach is designed to facilitate positive, sustainable change for New Zealand’s social system and our wellbeing.
